Sara Ortega, Colombian model, actress, and presenter, signs a contract with a production company from New York to make “El manifesto. She will give life to one of the people who experienced the Walmart catastrophe in El Paso last August 2019.
Sara Ortega, an intelligent and talented actress, comes to the United States with determination
Sara has extensive experience in the world of television and cinema, despite her young age. She has been in front of the cameras since she was 11 years old as a presenter in the children’s program WIKIDS on the channel Teleantioquía in Colombia and later on Kids Magazin.
Since then, she has presented numerous galas and has been part of television commercials. Since 2014 she leaped to the big screen, starring in movies and television series that have confirmed her as an actress.
In 2018 Sara gave life to Débora, in her adolescent phase, in the television series “Débora, the woman who undressed Colombia.” Based on the life of the painter Débora Arango, considered the most critical and controversial Colombian artist. She was a transgressor in her painting; she addressed social and political criticism as well as being the first Colombian painter to paint female nudes.
The miniseries was nominated for 12 awards, including the best new actress for Sara Ortega and best TV series.
Sara comes to New York with force to give life to Carmen, a brave, strong, and hard-working woman who crosses the border every day to bring food to her family. In a day like others, without explication, she was in the middle of chaos.
Shouts, screams, and races. A lot of people trying to escape from the hollow sound of the tragedy.
Sara Ortega, like Carmen, is a strong, brave woman with a talent that transcends screens. She arrives in New York to take the lead role in a film that will require an action from her that will make us live, feel, and open our emotions with Carmen.
Sara Ortega wants to charm New York as she has done with Colombia, to fill the streets of the Big Apple with talent, light, and life.
Model, actress and presenter, Sara Ortega will not leave anyone indifferent in “El manifesto”.
“The manifesto,” beyond the shooting
The manifesto reflects the story beyond the shooting that took place at Walmart in August 2019.
A 21-year-old white man entered a Walmart store in El Paso, near the United States border with Mexico. He began shooting at people who were there: dozens of families and others who had come to buy materials for the new school year.
At least 22 people were killed and 26 others, including young children, were injured in the worst firearm incident since November 2017 in the U.S.
“El manifiesto” put on the screens life after the shooting. It is easy for all of us turn off the television, but it is not for those who were there. It is not easy for those who felt the cold of fear and the sound of gunshots.
“The manifesto” is Carmen’s story. The story of someone who did not leave the massacre behind. She had to learn to live with something that changed her way of seeing life and her relationship with others forever.
New York is once again the scene of a media production that we are sure will cross borders.
